Bangladesh Medical College |
a private medical college sponsored and established by the Bangladesh Medical Studies and Research Institute (BMSRI), started functioning from 1986. The university of dhaka granted affiliation to this college in 1988. The Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council provisionally recognized it in 1989. Usually 100 students are admitted. The College is located at Dhanmondi, Dhaka. The academic part of the college and the attached hospital (500 bedded) are accommodated in a six-storied building. Outdoor and emergency departments are accommodated in a separate space of about 3,000 sq m adjacent to the college building. A 500 bed hospital with the clinical departments is under construction at Uttara Model Town, Dhaka; one wing of the "outdoor" at the above site has already been commissioned. The college has a library occupying about 250 sq m, with a good collection of books and journals. The principal is the head of the institution. |

The College of Nursing of IUBAT offers a program leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). The program seeks to prepare a student for career as a professional nurse, working as an independent service provider or employed in public or private sector within Bangladesh, in regional countries or overseas.
